Marco Ferroni chairs the System Management Board of CGIAR, a global research network offering crop and livestock improvement solutions, sustainable natural resource management options and policy analysis pertaining to food and nutrition security and agricultural development and growth.

From 2007 to 2017 Marco Ferroni was Executive Director of the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, a product and solutions incubator for farm sectors in low-income countries and Emerging Markets. Currently Mr Ferroni advises clients on strategic choice as a member of advisory councils and boards. He held managerial and senior advisory positions at the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank in Washington DC in the past, has a doctorate in agricultural economics from Cornell University and recently completed terms as an Adjunct Professor in agriculture and environmental sciences at McGill University.
